The world feels crazy lately. You don't need me to list all the ever-present reasons why you might feel anxious. Life in our modern world is beautiful, but it's also brutal, and managing the constant onslaught of threats requires adept skillfulness and copious self-compassion. 

Thankfully we don't have to pretend to be fine when we're not or try to muscle through our worry. Yoga is one tool in our toolbox for calming an anxious mind. The practices of yoga are powerful and we can learn how to leverage our yogic practices to manage anxiety.

I should know. Since 2012 I've struggled with sometimes crippling anxiety that manifested as terrifying panic attacks that sent me to the ER a half dozen times.  Along with therapy and medication, the mindfulness practices of yoga have allowed me to reduce the panic attacks and tame the chronic thrum of anxiety. 

In Yoga for Anxiety, we'll spend a cozy winter afternoon together learning yoga poses, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques to steady your spinning brain. I'll share with you what's worked for me and how to apply these techniques to your own life. 

You'll leave calmer, quieter and more at ease. 

This class is open to all, and no experience with yoga is required. 

Note that this class isn't a replacement for medical treatment. If you suffer from anxiety on a regular basis, I strongly recommend finding a doctor and/or therapist you trust to find a plan that works for you to help manage your symptoms.
